Fundraising campaign for Maxville Manor begins

Maxville Manor has excitedly announced the official start of its $11 million fundraising campaign on September 16, 2024.

As a community-funded mission, the Manor is relying on the generosity of individuals, businesses, and organizations. Therefore, representatives of the facility are putting out a call for urgent support to the local and surrounding communities to help them achieve their goal by the end of the year.

The Maxville Manor has been a trusted provider to the surrounding communities for 56 years and aims to continue offering compassionate and resident-centred care for seniors and others in need.

In order to meet the needs of the rapidly aging and growing population, “every dollar counts, and every donation, no matter the size, brings us closer to our goal of creating a Manor that can meet [those] needs,” Amy Porteous, CEO of Maxville Manor says.

The central goal of the campaign seeks to fund redevelopment of the Manor to create a more modern, accessible, and compassionate living environment for all residents. This will include 38 additional resident spaces, bringing the new total to 160 individuals that can reside at the Manor.

Overall, the well-being, dignity, and residents’ health are listed as the main reasons behind the reconstruction and expansion project.

Work to be undertaken on the Manor will be spread out into a 4-phase project spanning approximately 40 months. Specific parts of the job will see the creation of a new kitchen, new main entrance, and a completed outdoor recreational space. Residents, staff, and volunteers urgently need these critical upgrades.

Individuals can get involved through direct donations, attending fundraisers, taking the lead on an event, or simply by spreading the word. There are multiple ways to work towards this achievable goal and more information can be found at www.maxvillemanor.ca or by contacting Kerri Albright, Campaign Manager, at foundation@maxvillemanor.ca or 613-527-2170 ext. 247.
